A Success Story
Bhupesh Sharma is a Project Director at Ericsson in Sydney. He lost his father due to COVID-19 2nd wave in India and his mother was in the Intensive Care Unit for 38 days. Upon her release from the hospital, she has been struggling with “long COVID” in her rehabilitation. She has moved in with Bhupesh’s sister and has an attendant to look after her.
Global Medics have put together a multi-disciplinary team of specialists (lungs, heart and mental health), co-ordinated by Dr. S. P. Singh in India. This team remotely monitors her progress and advises the family and the attendant on how best to aide her recovery, in between her consultations with the Hospital doctors.
“The doctors in Indian hospitals have been stretched to their limits due to the second wave”, said Bhupesh, “Having a team of multi-speciality doctors to enable the family to look after her and proactively check on my mother’s progress is such a massive relief. Especially for someone like me, who has been devastated at not being next to my father during his last moments and now my mother being so unwell.”
